Originally conceived as an actual TV Special, Frank Zappa created this program in 1982 at Compact Video. Late in 1992 he made a D2 master at Kober Post (with Booey Kober). It is just ever so slightly different from the original, in part, to conform to the then current technology, Laserdisc! Voodnnnn.
This program contains excerpted material from not one, but two performances. And this is the official FZ version of The Dub Room Special - just the way he left it. These 2 programs are slated for DVD as whole concerts, mixed in multi-channel. Give yourself up! You will be completely surrounded.
Starring everybody at Compact Video (1982), George Duke, Ruth Underwood, Chester Thompson, Tom Fowler and Napoleon Murphy Brock in legendary performances recorded August 1974, and other musical entertainment, Halloween, 1981, with Tommy Mars, Ed Mann, Ray White, Scott Thunes, Bobby Martin, Chad Wackerman, and Steve Vai.
Featuring Massimo Bassoli and his rubber chicken, and as if that weren’t' enough, the amazing clay animation of Bruce Bickford (circa 1974).
