UFC 49: Unfinished Business
August 21, 2004: Randy Couture has unfinished business to settle with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort. At UFC 46, Couture lost his title to Belfort when the bout was halted due to a cut less than a minute into the fight. The third battle between the two warriors will settle the dispute once and for all.

October 22, 2004: Tito Ortiz outlasted previously unbeaten Patrick Cote winning a unanimous decision, in three rounds. Matt Hughes captured the UFC World Welterweight Championship belt for a record sixth time by defeating Georges St. Pierre.
