The Lost Ground lies in ruins after the Seismic Upheaval. Feeling the burden of responsibility, Kazuma withdraws and fights in an underground Alter gladiator arena. Just when Kazuma decides to escape to the mainland, he is attacked by Ayase whose Alter has been enhanced by the Mainland and has been sent back to capture Kazuma. Meanwhile, Ryuho and Kanami are helping to rebuild the Inner village in the badlands but HOLD shows up. Exploiting Ryuho's lapse of memory, Unkei with the Tokonatsu sisters weave a deceptive tale or Ryuho's past to convince him to return to HOLD. In the wake of the destruction, both Kazuma and Ryuho search to find themselves as the people that care for them search to find them.
