A festival favorite R2PC depicts naïve first-time filmmaker John Viener who discovers that everyone on his block is making a film. He decides that he, too, can be the next Steven Spielberg and sets out to make a film that will win at Sundance. In 83 hilarious minutes the film follows the wannabe filmmaker as he blunders his way through the jungle of independent filmmaking; to equipment rentals, talent agencies, through financing, writing and planning to the Screen Actors Guild and The Directors Guild of America. Part docu-spoof, part indiewood feature and part film-school joke the film is loaded with valuable information at the same time as it satirically reveals how reality and fiction blur off camera and on in the filmmakers world of boundless optimism and creativity.
