"Somebody To Love" is a virtually silent, half mask theatre show starring Dominic Burdess, Tom Godwin and Helen Iskander, filmed at the Young Vic Theatre in London for home video. The story follows the fortunes of three characters, hopping backwards and forwards to different stages of their lives. The 60-minute theatrical piece is set entirely to the music of Queen. The programme takes the form of a series of visual, comic scenes, which unfold into a story line that inevitable plummets to tragedy.
The production made its debut at the Edinburgh International Festival where it drew rave reviews, and subsequently went on to tour the UK, ending up at the Illkhom Theatre in Uzbekistan, Tashkent. The television documentary of this extraordinary visit to one of central Asia's biggest cities is included on this DVD as a bonus piece. The welcome, the thrill and the sights are seen in part of the world that most only hear of through news reports.
For generations, millions worldwide have fallen in love, laughed and cried to the music of Queen. Now "Somebody To Love" - with the help of queen - will make you do all these things in just 60 minutes.
