Ralph Holness' first production on video, Unda Mi Nose, became a hit, going to the Number One spot on the video charts. Next came another hit: Obeah Wedding. Now it's the very popular MAAMA MAN, written by the noted playwright, Paul Beale.
The play is set in the typical Jamaican ghetto area and portrays the typical stringy MAAMA MAN. He conserves on everything at home; from the toilet tissues to making love to his wife, Reseberry. Verona, the tenant, finds it very upsetting that she is forbidden to bring her boyfriend, Atwater Grinstone, to the home. Verona is continually harassed by both, her clash between Jooky Jam and the trigger-happy policeman is one of the play's highlights. Bella & Zella, the news carriers, are always eavesdropping by Mr Eviction's home. They're a host of funny misfits!!!
