The chairman of a large cemetery has a map of all the burial plots in his office.
He uses white pins to signify those plots which have been reserved for future guests and black pins for the graves that are occupied.
When Robert Kraft (Richard Boone) inadvertently mixes up the pin colours, several of the plot owners suffer an untimely death when he places a black pin on their plot.
Convinced of his ability to play God, Kraft seeks to discover the reason for his powers.
