This fascinating documentary about the daily grind of prison life in 1972 was created in part by the inmates at Sing Sing Prison. The focus of the documentary is a Thanksgiving concert at the prison itself. Loaning their time and talents were B.B. King and his band, Joan Baez and her sister Mimi Farina, the Voices of Harlem and the master of ceremonies for the event, comedian Jimmie Walker. B.B. and his band run through a blistering version of "How Blue Can You Get," as well as the 1972 chart hits "I Got Some Help (I Don't Really Need)" as well as the Jesse Belvin ballad "Guess Who?" while activist and folksinger Joan Baez contributes the rather fitting song "I Shall Be Released."
