The year is 2024 and after a fourth World War the Earth is a desolate wasteland.
Vic (Don Johnson) is a nomadic loner, wandering hungrily across the bleak desert landscape in search of cans of food buried deep in the radioactive ash. His telepathic dog, Blood (voiced by Tim McIntire) depends on Vic for food, but Vic needs Blood to find him something much more scarce: female companionship.
After Blood sniffs out one particular woman, she seduces Vic and lures him back to an underground society where the old ways of life have bee recreated. In this Utopian society all of the males are infertile, and the virile Vic is needed to rebuild the population. However, with no dogs allowed, can he say goodbye to his lifelong companion? And is this new-found society all it appears?
Based in the novel by Harlan Ellison (The Terminator, Star Trek and Babylon 5).
